Title - Ladybugs
WALT: describe
Remember to:
- use looks, actions and characteristics
- use describing words
- similes and metaphor
Have you ever seen a Ladybug as red as a rose? I have. If you don’t know anything about Ladybugs, well you came to the right place. I
I'm going to tell you everything about them.
They come in different colours and pattern, but the one we all know is the 7-spotted ladybug with it’s shiny diamond red and black body. We like them because they are pretty, graceful and harmless to us humans.
A ladybug has 6 legs which they use to walk around on plants. They have wings to fly around to find food. They have antennas as wiggle as a dogs tail that they use to smell and see with. A ladybug lays eggs as yellow as the sun. Nearly all the ladybugs have an oval shape body.
Farmer’s like them because they eat aphids and other plant-eating insects just like they were eating lollies. A ladybug can eat up 5,000 insects during its life, that is amazing. Did you know that not many ladybugs are female but they can lay eggs up to 10-50 eggs a day. The ladybug family is the beetle. There is nearly 2,300 ladybugs in the world.
So if you see one don’t squash it.

Wolf
The wolf
WALT: describe
Remember to:
- use looks, actions and characteristics
- use describing words
- similes and metaphors
- paragraphs (from planning sheet)
Never be fooled by a grandma that looks weird it might be the wolf. Behind the wicked smile are sharp knifes ready to dig in to people. As dark as mud there are marks on the nose and his eyes are blue like the sea. His tail is fluffy like foam.
He pretends to be kind as a lamb so he can eat people. He is ready to knock on the door then say’s something mean to the people and eat them up. He is a very good actor, pretending to dress up as grandma so when little red riding hood comes along, he can gobble her up in one bite.
The Wolf is very sneaky, he went inside grandma’s house by changing his voice to be like Little Red Riding Hood. He knocks on the door and say’s “Let me in i’m little red riding hood. He was very greedy because he ate grandma
in bite.
So the next time you see the big bad wolf run away or if you packed a gun use it.
