Camp Writing

I was bored waiting for my turn, I could see other people flying across to the other side. The lady clicked the harness on me, at that point I felt my heart beating like it was in a race. The lady who was running it called my name, I started walking up the stairs, each step made me more nervous. I was waiting for the man on the other side to unclick the person that was before me and fix up the tyres. I told the lady “ I don’t think I want to do this.” But the lady said “ Do you know what all the boys that have been on this were more scared than girls were.” I started laughing. The man waved his yellow flag. It was my turn to go across. I slowly stepped off the brown plank, I went zooming across to the other side, I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Finally it was over I made it to the other side of the flying fox. I smashed into the tyres I started drifting out, but lucky the man quickly grabbed me. My eyes were so watery. But it wasn’t over, it was just the beginning of the flying fox, we had to walk on this high hill to go over to the other part of the flying fox to go across. I wanted to go again, again, again, but it was over we had to go over to the water slide now.

Dear Gracie,

I don't like singing, but there is a popular trend going on right now. It is called the high note challenge. A lot of people are singing it, as well as me. The point of the high note challenge is that you get higher and higher.

I like eating mangos, when it is a hot and sunny day. What is your favourite fruit?

I don’t have any pets.  

I am turning 12 next year on May 20th. My mum is turning 50 next year, and she says that she will be celebrating her birthday in America, Utah.

I like watching Cartoon NetWork. If you don’t know what Cartoon NetWork is, it is a T.V channel on My Sky. My Sky is popular in New Zealand. I think nearly every family has Sky. Sky is a television box. You can literally watch anything, the channels go up to 205. What is your favorite Television Program?

Why I think we should not have school uniforms

Hi there, I am here today to talk to you about why schools should not have school uniforms. Read on to look at my reasons why schools should not have schools uniforms.    

I don’t think we should wear school uniforms. One reason is because everybody wears the same uniform and if you drop a piece from your uniform then it will be hard because everyone will think it is theirs but it actually isn't.

Another reason is because of the cost. Most people can’t afford school uniforms because it’s expensive. If you buy mufti clothes that will be cheaper but if you buy the school uniform then that will be 5x more the price than mufti clothes.

Lastly is the uniforms are dull. The uniforms are so dull that nobody would want to wear it. The only reason why the uniforms are dull is because the children don’t design them.

These are all of my reason why schools should not provide school uniforms because of people lose their uniform, it costs a lot of money, and it’s dull. I hope you all agree with me any why schools shouldn't have school uniforms.

That was summer.

Remember, colourful Ice cream getting sticky on your fingers. 

Remember, the colourful Frisbee soaring, gliding, roaring through the air.

Remember, the hot, burning sand going through your toes giving you a massage as your walking.

Remember, the sizzling sounds sausages on the hot firing BBQ.

Remember, the cool breeze going past your skin as you're wearing a singlet.

Remember, laying down on the beach, as the sun is shining down on you.  

Remember, playing volleyball in the sunshine then afterwards drinking cold Coca-Cola.

My name is Nateesha, I am 10 years old and I am a year 6 at Owairaka Primary School. How old are you and what year level are you? I have 6 people in my family and I only have 1 brother and 0 sisters. How many brothers and sisters do you have?  

What is your favourite sport? My favourite sport is Netball and Handball. I play Netball for a club called ANSA Divas, it is a really good team, we played a tournament last week. We played 5 games, It was a tie for the first game, then we won to the Pakuranga United and the other games were awesome. Have you been in any tournaments? Are you in any sports teams?

Do you like to bake? I do, I like to bake chocolate chip cookies and M&M cookies. What do you like to bake?

Do you like starbucks? If you do, then what is your favourite Frappuccino? My favourite drink is Java chip.

Do you have any best friends? If you do, Who are they? I don’t have any best friends because all of my friends are good friends.

Pen-Pal Letter 2

Dear Nateesha,

         

fal la la la la la la la la  oh so sorry didn't see you there.  How are you? Thank you for your letter. I know you don’t celebrate Halloween. But do you celebrate Christmas? if you do what are you  asking for? I’m asking for a fujifilm instax mini 8. If you are wondering what a fujifilm instax mini 8  is, it’s a type of camera that you put film into it and you take a photo and it comes out. It’s like the cameras that your parents had but the newly improved.

Do you like to bake? IS THERE A STARBUCKS IN NZ? if there is have you been there and what do you get? usually I get A caramel frappuccino. Did you put your Christmas tree up? I put mine up the  first day of Dec.

My new year resolution is to  make the Baracuta competitive swimming team so I can compete against               

my friend ANNA. What’s your new years resolution?

Dear Bianca Zito

I am doing fine thanks. I do celebrate Christmas. Do you? Well we already had Christmas but I can tell you what I got, I got headphones red, lots of chocolate, and some clothes so that's mostly what I got and $30 from my mum.

Of course I like to bake my favourite thing to bake is chocolate brownies and M&M cookies. Do you like to bake and what is your favourite thing to bake? Yes there is Starbucks in New Zealand my friend Maggie loves to get a caramel Frappuccino but I like the Java chip.

Yeah so how is your swim team going and have you made the team? I bet you are doing a lot of training to get into the swim team.
